Digital Citizen is a monthly review of news, policy, and research on human rights and technology in the Arab World. It is published in English, Arabic, and French.
The review is produced collaboratively by six organizations— Access, Advox, APC, EFF, 7iber (pronounced ‘Hiber’), and Social Media Exchange (SMEX)—and written by a collective of more than 20 individuals from throughout the Arab region and the world.
Digital Citizen is sent out as newsletter—subscribe here—and is simultaneously published on partner websites. The newsletter, or portions of it, are also available for syndication.
Anyone can contribute to the newsletter by submitting links to digital rights-related news and events from the region, or by volunteering with our editorial team. To learn more about volunteering, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Topics covered by Digital Citizen include censorship, media freedom, ICT sector development, surveillance, and other issues related to human rights and technology.
